CHICAGO, Ill. /CitizenWire/ — KnowledgeAdvisors, which provides learning measurement software that improves the effectiveness and business impact of learning, today announced that it has elected Kevin Oakes to its Board of Directors.
Kevin is the CEO and founder of the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp), the fastest growing and largest corporate network focused on the practices of high-performance organizations. Through a combination of peer networking, human capital research, tools and technology, i4cp enables high performance by linking human capital practices to bottom-line business impact.
Kevin has been a leader in the human capital field for the last two decades, and was previously the Founder and the President of SumTotal Systems, the largest provider of talent and learning solutions in the world, which he founded in 2004 by merging Click2learn with Docent. Prior to the formation of SumTotal, Kevin was the Chairman & CEO of Click2learn, which was founded in 1985 by Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft. Prior to joining Click2learn, Kevin was president and founder of Oakes Interactive, an award winning technology-based training company in Needham, Massachusetts. Oakes Interactive was purchased by Click2learn (then called Asymetrix) in 1997, which Kevin helped take public a year later.
Completing a five-year board term, Kevin was the 2006 Chairman of the American Society of Training & Development (ASTD), which is the largest association in the world dedicated to workplace learning and performance with a global membership of over 70,000 members. Kevin was also recently the Chairman of Jambok, a social learning start-up company which was founded at Sun Microsystems and was purchased by SuccessFactors in March 2011.
Kevin is a frequent author and international keynote speaker on talent management and using human capital strategically in organizations and recently released a new book, titled "The Executive Guide to Integrated Talent Management," published by ASTD Press.
"KnowledgeAdvisors Board of Directors oversees the governance and stewardship for its shareholders," said Kent Barnett, CEO of KnowledgeAdvisors. "Kevin will be our fourth board member and I strongly believe his insights and integrity will add a new dimension to our already engaging and diverse board discussions. I extend a warm welcome to Kevin who I've known for ten years and who was elected to the board for his experience and leadership in the talent development, learning and technology space."
"When Kent asked me to join the board of KnowledgeAdvisors, it was an easy decision," said Oakes. "I believe in the learning and human capital analytics space and its growth potential, I believe in the company which I've followed for years, but mostly I believe in Kent. He's built a great team and has a great reputation, and I look forward to helping him and the company be the leader in this market."
