How to Submit a Press Release

Thank you for your interest. There is a $20 fee to submit a news announcement to CitizenWire™ for publication on our site and news streams. This covers cost of checking content and entering into our system (you do not have access to post your own news release for security reasons).

We only accept news from U.S. based companies and individuals, and news must be provided in MS Word (or “rich text” .rtf) format, preferably to A.P. style and cleaned-up for online posting (remove double spaces, no hard-returns in text, no anchor links around words/phrases, no images or headers/footers in the document). All releases must have a proper dateline (e.g., LOS ANGELES, Calif.), and the company/person announcing something must be found in text of first paragraph for clear “attribution” (which makes it clear WHO is announcing something).

Only news about a company, product, service, event, award, or similar newsworthy information will be published. Anything which is “advertorial,” or on our prohibited content list (see below, this page) will not be accepted.

How to Pay for Press Release Post
All submissions are pre-paid using the pay now link below (uses PayPal®) and fee is non-refundable. CitizenWire™ is an online news service, owned by Neotrope® a California-based company established in 1983, an accredited A+ member of the BBB (and BBBonline Program), and an Inc. 5000 company in 2009. We are a real company, not a Web site pretending to be a company.

Cost is $19.99 per press release – fee is non refundable under any circumstance. There is no Calif. state sales tax at this time. (You may change quantity once on the PayPal secure site “cart view,” if you need to purchase more than one release posting.)

News release must not be “stale” (already posted/published elsewhere); if you have already issued a release, you must change the release provided to us in the headline and first paragraph to make it different enough to not look like copy-cat content. Use of competitor brands, or “seeding” brand names of other companies for “by association” ranking is not allowed. Stock tickers may NOT be used without permission of public company, and only if “material” to the news (partnership, etc.). Content may not be “anonymous” and must have clear attribution (who is announcing the news) in first paragraph. Dateline must reflect actual company/person location, or event location. Information found to be false or misleading will be removed.
