The SHRM certification, a three-year credential, recognizes the proven achievements of human resources professionals like Burke-Sinclair who lead strategically through the human resources function, foster influence in the community, analyze performance metrics, and align human resources strategies to organizational goals.
"I want to truly be part of the Four Seasons mission of 'Co-Creating the Care Experience,' and do whatever I can to ensure the best quality patient and family care experiences. If I can partner with employees, empowering them to excel and succeed, then that is what I'm here to do," says Burke-Sinclair.
A native of Hendersonville, Burke-Sinclair joined Four Seasons in August 2014. A former executive of human resources and strategy, she earned her master's degree in business administration while working in the manufacturing sector, then her doctoral degree in education, focusing on adult learners and program development. Focusing on effective training and development for business and the work force, she taught at Gardner Webb University, Henderson County public schools, and at regional community colleges. Today, she lives in Flat Rock with her husband and their two adopted children.
Known for her passion for organizational success through empowering others, Burke-Sinclair has already proven an asset to the Four Seasons mission and staff, says Chris Comeaux, chief executive officer.
"Engaged, motivated employees tend to have the support and opportunities they need for professional and career development," Comeaux says. "There's no doubt Millicent Burke-Sinclair contributes significantly and strategically to the climate of excellence that is integral to the Four Seasons mission."
Burke-Sinclair is no stranger to the Four Seasons commitment to community service. When her grandfather passed away at Elizabeth House more than a decade ago, she hoped for the opportunity to "give back" to the organization.
"My personal mission has always been to empower others to succeed, to make a true difference," says Burke-Sinclair, who likes to develop staff and leaders to be the best they can be. "What better place to do that than in health care at Four Seasons?"
