LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CitizenWire) — Time and Gems, the #1 U.S. online Rolex(R) dealer, has released the world’s first two 2-Tone Rolex watch coated using a process called Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) that transforms their appearance while making them up to 20x more scratch resistant.

“We’re constantly striving to take the pre-owned Rolex market to the next level,” says Jason Smith, President of Time and Gems. “Our designers have done just that with our ‘Black Gold’ Rolex watches. There’s nothing we cannot do to a Rolex in terms of customizations and by constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, I believe we’ve come up with something that’s both extremely unique and stunning to look at.”

The PVD process occurs in a vacuum chamber, where the watch components are bombarded with a Diamond-Like Carbon coating composed of elements such as titanium and nitrogen. Over 6 hours the DLC coating interpenetrates the steel and provides a chemical barrier that protects against the elements, reduces the effects of oxidation and increases the hardness by almost 20 times.

To put things in perspective 904L a.k.a. “Rolex Steel” has a hardness of 490 Vickers (rating used to measure hardness) and sapphire crystal has a rating of 2,500 Vickers. The DLC coating used by Time and Gems has a hardness rating of up to 10,000 Vickers proving an ultra-hard, highly scratch-resistant coating that will not fade or peel.

The process of PVD has been around for decades, having been used to enhance the durability of everything from military aircraft to Formula 1 car components. Using the process on fine Swiss watches is relatively new in comparison, about a couple of years, and Time and Gems is the first to ever perfect the process for 2-Tone Rolex watches.

About Time and Gems:

Time and Gems has been selling luxury watches, specifically Rolex, over the past 30 years and retailing to customers worldwide online for the past 9 years. They have over a thousand Rolex watches in stock, including new, used and vintage models making them the largest online retailer of Rolex watches in the USA. All watches are restored by Rolex-certified watchmakers to like-new condition and come with individual appraisals and a 1 year warranty. They can be found online at their Web site www.timeandgems.com or at their store located in the heart of the Downtown, Los Angeles Jewelry District.

Time and Gems is an independent company not affiliated with any watch manufacturer or distributor. Rolex(R) is a registered trademark of Rolex Watch U.S.A. and Rolex International.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CitizenWire) — Konrad Ventana today announced, through his agent, the release of two new e-books now available through Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. These new releases represent the first books of a series known to the literary cognoscenti as the Post-Lux Trilogy: “Book 1, A Desperado’s Daily Bread” (ISBN: 9780595622177); “Book 2, The Unbearable Sadness of Zilch” (ISBN: 9781440158254); “Book 3, Questing for Uberjoy” (est. 2011).

The reclusive author of this postmodern, post-perspicuous literature is a prominent scientist, professor, inventor, and visionary whose pioneering work in molecular biotechnology served to usher targeted genetic medicine across the threshold of history-his intellectual accomplishments are, in a word, profound. The first editions of this series of books received both Editor’s Choice and Rising Star designations from the publishers.

Konrad Ventana (literally, “Bold Counsel through a Window”) embraces the time-honored ideals of social responsibility (where poets, playwrights, and artists once served as guiding lights) for a modern society that “walks and runs for the cure” yet, in actuality, has been lulled into a state of non-participation in the life-of-the-mind and acts of meaningful creativity.

In each new book of The Post-Lux Trilogy, the author presents a vital and important aspect of the creative process, as it is boldly captured and elegantly revealed through the artistry of literary fiction.

Each remarkable book is a picture window: (1) A Desperado’s Daily Bread reveals the alienation of the true visionary in a society that honors the robes of authority, yet not the swink and pluck of the creative artist. (2) The Unbearable Sadness of Zilch chronicles the loss of divine inspiration and the role of the muse in an unforgettable and provocative Hollywood neo-Noir. (3) Questing for Uberjoy sweeps the reader off into a world of high drama and adventure in the remote Himalayan mountains of Nepal and Tibet, where lofty ideals clash with the myth of the conquering hero until nothing, not even the evening stars, will ever appear to be quite the same. This final volume is scheduled for 2011.

A Desperado’s Daily Bread & The Unbearable Sadness of Zilch are available from: www.iUniverse.com, www.bn.com, and www.amazon.com .

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CitizenWire) — Starting with nudie-cutie footage from the 1950s, the music video to “Explosive Chill” by Jonny Harmonic proceeds to travel the world both literally and figuratively. “Vacation destinations, pyrotechnics, ancient statues, and modern dildos are all in the video,” states John Scott G of Golosio Publishing, the record label and music publishing company behind Harmonic’s “We All Love Bright Shiny Things” album.

Produced by the FookMovie Collective, the purpose of the video is to show how the groove-oriented dance music can be a soundtrack to a wide variety of visual material.

The wide variety of imagery perfectly suits the eerie and pulsating music on “We All Love Bright Shiny Things.” Each of the album’s dozen tracks had its start in various locations, including “nightclubs, sexual conquests, drug trips, supernatural manifestations, slow-motion footage, girls in short skirts, and/or special effects,” G stated.

“These 12 songs began in a brightly-colored place full of movement and strange other-worldly creatures,” G noted. “From there, Jonny took them into a kind of ethereal plane involving rock, goth, dance, hearts-of-space, and groove,” G added.

Golosio is welcoming suggestions on the best way to categorize the sounds on the Jonny Harmonic album. “There were a lot of ideas from musicians in the studio,” says G, “including terms such as ambient bop, dark-groove, and industrial-lounge, but most of us like the term Explosive Chill, which also happens to be one of the song titles.”

About Jonny Harmonic:

Some say Jonny Harmonic (www.jonnyharmonic.com) is a phantom, while others say he’s trying to out-do Buckethead, the super-shredder guitarist who never appears in public without a mask and bucket for a hat. In either case, Jonny is not posing for publicity photos and not giving in-person interviews. When asked for a bio, he wrote: “Mr. Harmonic has no comment on rumors linking him to Shania Twain and George Chuvalo.”

About John Scott G:

In addition to producing and composing the songs on the “We All Love Bright Shiny Things” album, Mr. G began as electronica artist The G-Man and is now the managing partner of Golosio Publishing. Recently, he co-wrote the song “Bad Actor” on the new Merle Haggard album (“I Am What I Am” on Vanguard Records).

About Golosio Publishing:

The publishing company, which is now releasing albums by several of their songwriter-performers, is comprised of Golosio Publishing (BMI), Audio Masterworks (ASCAP), Golosio Audio Masterworks (SESAC), SongsAndSoundtracks, and FookMovie.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CitizenWire) — Bank Foreclosures Sale, an online leader in the bank owned homes listings and foreclosure information industry, announced today that bank foreclosures were up 5% in the second quarter of 2010. With 269,960 bank repossessions recorded, a new quarterly record was set for bank repossessions, which are up a staggering 38% from the second quarter of 2009.

The news comes as a good sign for buyers and foreclosure investors looking at buying REO or bank owned property. While the larger foreclosure property market actually decreased 4% during the second quarter, bank foreclosure repossessions mark an area where a surplus of properties could be a source of better deals.

“Due to mortgage refinancing and loan modification programs, we’re not seeing as many new foreclosure properties come on to the market right now,” says Simon Campbell, a market analyst for Bank Foreclosures Sale. “But what we are seeing is homes that have been in foreclosure for a while are being repossessed by banks trying to work through thousands and thousands of defaulted loans.”

With banks now clearing their backlog of foreclosures through repossession, they will soon look to sell them off to regain the capital lost on unpaid mortgages. Experts believe this could lead to record low prices on bank foreclosures and bank owned properties for foreclosure buyers.

“I’d say this summer and fall are the times to look for bank owned homes and bank REOs,” remarked Campbell. “With a big surplus, banks will be looking to unload properties, so it’s a good chance to find a low and competitive price.”

According to Bank Foreclosures Sale, California lead the nation in REO home filings during the second quarter, with over 45,700 currently inventoried throughout the state, especially in areas like Modesto, Los Angeles and Fresno. Florida was close behind with 32,860 REO properties, with hotspots in Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Fort Lauderdale.

Other top states for bank repos and REOs during the second quarter were Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, Illinois and Nevada, all of which are expected to see continued foreclosure growth over the rest of 2010.

(CitizenWire) — Time and Gems (www.TimeandGems.com), an independent Rolex(R) retailer offering premium Rolex customizations, today announced a diamond Rolex watch giveaway valued at $7,000 as a thank-you to all new visitors of their Web site that sign up for their bi-weekly newsletter.

“We really care about our customers, and realize that purchasing a Rolex for the first time is a big decision,” says Jason Smith, president of Time and Gems. “Most of our customers are just browsing and often take a couple of weeks to make a decision to purchase a Rolex that costs several thousand dollars. Our newsletter helps keep them updated of new watches in our inventory that we’re constantly adding to as well as special discounts and tips from our Rolex experts.”

Pre-owned Rolex watches are relatively unknown to many. Most people end up buying their first Rolex at an authorized dealer brand new. What they don’t realize is that most pre-owned Rolex watches sold by independent retailers like Time and Gems look and function like they’re almost new, having been fully polished and serviced, and can cost up to 70% less than their new counterparts.

Time and Gems offers over a thousand Rolex watches on their Web site, making them one of the largest independent Rolex retailers online offering models in both factory original as well as customized in different colors and configurations that Rolex does not offer.

(CitizenWire) — Lion Technology Inc., a nationally renowned regulatory compliance training firm, will present its two-day Hazardous Waste in California workshop series during the month of September. These courses are designed for industry professionals who must assure compliance with California’s hazardous waste regulations. Workshops will be held in San Diego on September 13-14; Los Angeles on September 16-17; Bakersfield on September 20-21; and Oakland on September 23-24, 2010.

The workshop features comprehensive coverage of the California Hazardous Waste Regulations (Title 22), including waste identification, management standards for universal wastes, on-site management requirements, manifesting, emergency planning and response, recordkeeping, and the latest legislative initiatives.

Lion Technology Director of Corporate Training, Scott Dunsmore, a national expert on hazardous waste management, stresses that proper hazardous waste handling, management, and disposal is critical, especially in light of rising enforcement, which is now $37,500 per day/per violation.

“Regulators have often stated that inadequate or no training has been at the root of non-compliance. With a slow economy and budget tightening, the reflex is to go towards shorter and inexpensive training options. However, with enforcement initiatives on the increase, shortchanging your training puts you at risk of costing you more in the long run. Adequate training is essential to EHS excellence.”

Tuition is $795 per person, with group discounts available. Registration includes course reference materials, networking luncheon, certificate of achievement, and one year of follow-up support. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., and the workshop runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pre-registration is highly recommended. To register, call (888) 546-6511 or visit us online at www.Lion.com/Title22Training .

CitizenWire COLUMN: You can find a tremendous variety of human behavior on LA Talk Radio (www.latalkradio.com) but it is the most varied on Sheena Metal’s radio shows. With three programs on the air for a total of 14 hours a week, Metal is one of the busiest voices of the station, which is both a live and an iTunes destination for listeners.

“For people interested in interviews, commentary, outrageous viewpoints, humor, paranormal activity and the social scene, these shows are the place to be,” states Ms. Metal. “Plus, every show is like a virtual interactive demonstration of what makes people tick,” she adds with a smile.

Airing Monday through Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Pacific Time is the Sheena Metal Experience. “This is a show that rips the veil off the human sideshow to expose Homo sapiens in all their glory,” notes Metal. The show producers have described it as talk radio the way it was meant to be: unscripted, unpredictable, and equal parts hilarious and humanistic. Each week, she interviews movie stars, TV icons, Broadway legends, studio heads, writers, doctors, chefs, shark experts and ghost hunters…just to name a few.

Airing on Tuesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. (Pacific) is Haunted Playground. Along with co-host Danielle Egnew, the program is “a cornucopia of ghosts, monsters, aliens, the paranormal and other things that go bump in the night,” says Metal.

Airing on Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m. (Pacific) is Music Highway, a music/talk hybrid, now in its sixth year on the air. The focus is on independent music in all its many genres: rock, country, folk, goth, electronic, dance, urban, and more.

Within hours of each program’s conclusion, the entire show is offered for free in the Podcast section of Apple’s iTunes.

About Sheena Metal
Sheena Metal helmed five successful shows in her six years on KLSX 97.1 FM Talk, then known as “the Howard Stern station.” Her quick wit, unforgettable voice and unflinching fan base have proven Sheena to be an undeniable radio presence. She has been written up in the Los Angeles Times Sunday Calendar, LA Weekly, The Daily News, Music Connection and dozens of other periodicals.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CitizenWire) — Real country by real musicians is the way to describe the new album by Scott Joss and Doug Colosio, “A Couple of Strangers,” released by Golosio Publishing. The 13-track recording showcases many of the duo’s favorite types of music, including Texas Swing, roadhouse roots, and “good ole’ cryin’ in yer beer country tunes,” states John Scott G, managing partner of Golosio.

“We are proud to play country songs that are the real deal,” Joss says. “And we play them the way we think they should sound,” Joss adds, “not like any kind of processed music.”

“These songs are not pop or country-rock or any of that assembly-line cookie-cutter stuff,” Colosio states, “this is real music.” Both Joss and Colosio are current members of Merle Haggard’s band, The Strangers, and they feel they are honoring a strong tradition of remaining true to the roots of country, roadhouse swing and Americana music.

Ten of the 13 songs on “A Couple of Strangers” were composed by Joss and Colosio, and they co-wrote the others. Songwriters collaborating with the duo on these remaining tunes include Wayne Dean and Doug’s brother Greg Colosio. All songs are on iTunes.

Videos for five of the Joss and Colosio songs are on YouTube and FookMovie.com. The album cover composite photograph and art direction are by Phil Hatten Design.

About Scott Joss:

Songwriter, fiddle player and guitarist Scott Joss has worked with Dwight Yoakam, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Heather Myles, Carlene Carter, and Rosie Flores. Born in Long Beach, California, Joss learned to play fiddle from Jana Jae, fiddle player for Buck Owens & His Buckaroos. Winner of numerous California State Fiddle Championships, at the age of 18 he joined Merle Haggard and his first show as one of the Strangers was at Carnegie Hall.

About Doug Colosio:

Songwriter and keyboard player Doug Colosio has performed with Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Charlie Pride, Jewel, and many other chart-topping country and crossover artists. He regularly plays with Merle Haggard and has appeared with some of the most important figures in today’s music. His solo album, “American Piano,” is part of the Sony music creation series.

About Golosio Publishing:

In addition to Colosio, G, and Joss, songwriters and performers working with Golosio include James Sotelo (rock and electronica), Jonny Harmonic (explosive ambient), Bella Swan Bass Society (groove), and DJ Insane (trance), as well as country writers Greg Colosio, Dennis Barney, Jim Dyer, and Wayne Dean. Golosio music has been heard in commercials for Verizon Wireless, Goodyear, Auto Club, Micron, General Dynamics, and more. G, Colosio, Joss and Haggard co-wrote “Bad Actor,” a track on the 2010 Merle Haggard album (“I Am What I Am” on Vanguard Records).

If they choose to donate $100 or more, donors will have the option to choose other Send2Press services at a discount (such as $100 off of a nationwide targeted media blitz). Neotrope’s Send2Press services can be utilized no sooner than 3 working days from the confirmed date of the donation and no later than October 1, 2010 (subject to all terms/limitations).

“Thanks to Neotrope’s generosity and pro bono public relations support of Starlight over the last year and a half, we know how valuable its PR distribution service is,” says Jenny Isaacson, Vice President of Brand Marketing and Communications, Starlight. “We hope that many people and businesses will make a donation and start to use Neotrope’s Send2Press service as a result. It’s a wonderful opportunity to easily support Starlight and get some real value for your donation.”

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CitizenWire) — For the second quarter of 2010, Publishers Newswire (PNW), an online resource established in 2004 for small publishers, as well as lesser known and first-time book authors, has today announced its latest semi-annual “Books to Bookmark” list. This is a round-up of 9 new and recent books which may have been missed due to not originating from major New York book publishing houses, or “big name” authors.

“Now that the book industry is starting to recover from the slow economy of the past 18 months, there has been a renewed blush of new books coming out,” said PNW editor Christopher Laird Simmons. “What is most clear this year is that book publishing is not going away, thankfully, as evidenced by very strong sales of class leading e-book readers like Amazon’s Kindle, the Apple iPad, and Barnes and Noble’s Nook. Print is still lively, but more and more people are ‘trying out’ the electronic publishing options — great news for all publishers.” Simmons has been a working journalist for over 25 years, and has written widely on the topic of publishing, marketing, and e-books.

The following list of 9 books in print are provided as “worth a look” for media and booksellers, as well as avid readers of new and unique literary content. To learn more about these and other books in detail, visit: www.publishersnewswire.com .

* ‘The Dream’ by Joe Puckett Recounts Nostalgic Tale of Small Town Basketball Dreams

High school basketball took hold of one small town – Peerless, Montana – and author, Joe Puckett, recounts the story in “The Dream: The Story of the 1978 and 1979 Peerless Panthers” (ISBN: 978-0984549405; Aubade Publishing). The book details 1957-1980 when the State Class C Montana basketball tournament was played in Helena. It also outlines the passing of the District 1-C basketball conference – once the most powerful Class C basketball conference in Montana – which today no longer exists. Laced with humor, small-town intrigue and anecdotes, most readers will find something to identify with in “The Dream.” It reveals just how closely one small town’s identity and social life are connected to high school basketball. Includes 55 black and white photos that vividly bring the story to life.

* ‘Make the Cougar Purr’ by Sonja Paris is an Erotic Journey of Rediscovery

Tired of romance novels that just portray young women with bodies to die for, novelist Sonja Paris tried a new approach in her first novel “Make The Cougar Purr” (ISBN: 978-1452824543; 494 pages; paperback; CreateSpace). This book is about betrayal, loss and sexual identification, and even though Paris put her work into a fictional “skeleton” its “vital organs” are in part based on autobiographic reflection of her own very turbulent life (she’s the widow of Johnny and the Hurricanes saxophone legend Johnny Paris). “Cougar” depicts the life of Hannah, a middle-aged woman in a small Ohio town. Constantly betrayed by her husband, she drowns her sorrow in booze and spends his money freely, until he reveals to her that his last affair with a much younger woman is based on true love and not on pure lust. Driven by rage and desperate to find a new identity for herself, Hannah turns into a prancing cougar on the hunt and stumbles from one sexual escapade into another on her search for true love. Paris’ writing style combines all the five senses with raw sex and deep-felt emotions, described so vividly, as if watching a screenplay.

* ‘The Words of the Founders’ by Paul Rosenberg Hopes the Resounding Ring of Truth will Inspire ‘Right Action’ that is the Spirit of America

In “The Words of the Founders” (ISBN 13: 978-0979987731; paperback; Ascoli Publishing and Vera Verba Publishing) Rosenberg has assembled 570 timely and poignant quotes from America’s founding fathers, the framers of the Constitution: George Washington, Samuel Adams, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, James Madison, George Mason, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, and others. The book has little “editorializing,” believing that it’s time for Americans to directly take to heart the words of our Founders — even read how the Founders’ own ideas changed over the years. There are some amazing quotes and thoughts that were left out of our “civics” classes – that show how vehement the Founders were that our only chance of survival as a nation was a weak federalism and that all efforts of a strong government should be resisted at all costs. Rosenberg is also the author of the counter-culture classic “A Lodging of Wayfaring Men.”

* ‘Surprising Silhouettes’ by Connie Tamaddon Brings Light and Shadow to Playful Children’s Book

In her new book, “Surprising Silhouettes” (ISBN: 978-0977801831; 48 pages; hardcover; Nautilus Press) photographer Connie Tamaddon uses the properties of light and shadow to create a clever read-out-loud guessing game that illustrates that not everything is as it first seems. Using unusual materials to fashion seemingly familiar shapes, Tamaddon creates an imaginative way to entertain – and enlighten – readers young and old, and provides a playful yet serious opportunity for parents and children (ages 4-8) to discuss the dangers of prejudging objects and people. Tamaddon has worked in photography and video production for more than ten years and is the founder of design, a children’s photography workshop. Her work has been displayed in galleries and schools, and has been published in various newspapers.

* ‘One Black Woman’s Opinion’ by Valerie Stallworth Stephens Contains Motivational Writings to Inspire and Entertain

What started out as therapy, ended up as a compilation of motivational writings in “One Black Woman’s Opinion” (ISBN: 978-0578041209; 113 pages; paperback), by Valerie Stallworth Stephens. Written for all age groups, as well as men and women, “One Black Woman’s Opinion,” is designed to promote the power of positive thinking. Its mission is to motivate and to nurture the spirit. Stallworth’s co-workers provided her with topics ranging from forgiveness and dealing with pain to the power of the word. Before she knew it, she had a book. One of Stallworth’s favorite pieces is titled, “It is not about waiting on the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain.” This excerpt focuses on the unpredictability of life and the ability to embrace it no matter what.

* ‘The Artist’s Guide to Success in the Music Business’ by Producer Loren Weisman Reveals Modern Principals of Making it as a Musician

Additionally, 25% of the book sales revenue goes each month to a different charity organization for their continued dedication to independent musicians and music education.

* ‘Papal Rogues’ by Author Ron Wilk Draws the Reader into the Clandestine Underbelly of Corporate America, the U.S. Military and the Vatican

In a daring and controversial “what if” scenario, Ron Wilk creates a compelling and multi-layered thriller that leaves readers wondering just how far a nefarious few will go to recapture the reins of power and just how vulnerable the world can be when the secrets of cyberspace fall into the wrong hands. “Papal Rogues” (ISBN: 978-1936183029; 520 pages; paperback; Langdon Street Press – a division of Hillcrest Publishing Group, Inc.) is Wilk’s first published novel; however, the author has previously released two highly successful Internet novels with nearly 1 million pages downloaded to date.

The art of tattoos has intrigued many people in various cultures around the world. “Tattoo Stories” (ISBN: 978-0984241705; 113 pages; hardcover) not only addresses taboos plaguing the art form, but draws readers in for an intimate look at journeys, experiences and cultures, through spoken word paired with stunning photography by Marvin Malzahn. The foreword is written by Chester Bennington, front man for Linkin’ Park and Dead By Sunrise.

* ‘Funds to the Rescue’ by Susan Daffron

Author Susan Daffron’s “Funds to the Rescue: 101 Fundraising Ideas for Humane and Animal Rescue Groups” (ISBN: 978-0974924595; 188 pages; paperback; Logical Expressions, Inc.) combines practical fundraising advice with real examples of fundraising activities that humane groups have used along with rankings of costs, planning time, and personnel required. Many books on fundraising don’t offer specific and straightforward ideas for pet-oriented fundraisers, but “Funds” is written specifically for humane groups. Daffron is the founder of the National Association of Pet Rescue Professionals, an organization that offers tools and information to help rescue groups save more companion animal lives.
